I am a non-judgmental, genuine, kind, caring Counsellor
here to help you place some pieces in the puzzle of your life.
Hi, I'm Lindsie! I am a qualified Counsellor with a BA (hons) in Counselling. I practice Humanistic therapy, which simply means I work predominately in a person-centred way, keeping you in the forefront of all the work we do together - no one knows you and your struggles more than you!
I am kind and caring and will treat you with respect, by listening, without criticism or judgement – offering gentle support from one person to another. We will work collaboratively, as a team, to focus on what you would like to achieve. This can be short-term or open-ended, depending on your wishes.
I work in an inclusive way and welcome a diverse range of people from all walks of life. I have counselled people from ages ranging 11 to 89. I am an advocate and ally for members of LGBTQ+ community.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) who are verified by the Professional Standards Authority. Additionally I am DBS checked and ICO registered and am insured.
I am now available for online and 'In Real Life' counselling.
Online sessions are via a video platform and are discounted to
£40 per 50 minute session.
In-Person sessions are £45 per 50 minute and held in the Durrington Community Centre.
Sessions are usually weekly, although can also be decreased or increased as required. There may be some discounted sessions available for people in times of hardship, please ask.
I offer a free 30 minute introductory session so we can get to know one another and discuss ways of working and any goals or specific focus you may have in mind. These are all online.
Sometimes we all need an extra bit of space, or time, just for us. A time to place all the pieces of the puzzle of our lives, and as your Counsellor, I will be there to try to help you solve parts of the puzzle. Counselling can provide the time and space to look at whatever you feel needs some attention, whether that be surrounding family, relationships, motivation, low mood, stress, anxiety, self-confidence, sexuality, gender, work, college, loss, bereavement or any other aspect that you would like to explore.
My goal is to accompany you on your journey through any challenges. Hopefully together we can empower you to change what you want to change, grow through your struggles and start to move forward to where you want to be in your life.
I work ethically and with integrity within the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) guidelines and ethical framework.

counselling could really make a difference
It is private, I will not judge you and together we can hopefully help you feel happier and less stressed.
I have been a child and young person Counsellor to pre-teens, adolescents and young adults for several years in a local youth service. I value and enjoy being able to be a non-related adult to whom they can talk safely, freely and without judgment, whilst holding safeguarding as a foundation to the work.
In this role I have engaged and collaborated with other youth organisations such as CAMHS, Allsorts, YES and FindItOut Centres. I have much additional training surrounding counselling with young people, working in creative ways, self-harm and the safeguarding of young people. The work often includes working with anxiety, building confidence and resilience. Additionally coping with pressures of school or college, dealing with friendships and family, or the transition into adulthood. Increasingly I support people with issues surrounding identity; personal, sexual or gender.
I have worked at a local hospice, counselling people both before, and after, a loss. I received comprehensive training surrounding counselling people through death, loss and bereavement.
A loss of any kind - relationship, job, pet, purpose, family, and so on, can be a very difficult process to deal with. Counseling can be very helpful in supporting people through the different elements of grief and all associated issues which may arise, ultimately helping you to develop a level of acceptance and some peace of mind.
I have been lucky enough to have had many years experience and training working in a previous role with people with various learning disabilities including, including Downs Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and complex needs.
Additional Continuing Professional Development:
My personal and professional awareness and ability is important to me, therefore I take part in regular continuing professional development. In addition to having successfully achieved a BA (Hons) Degree in Humanistic Counselling, I continue to regularly engage with learning opportunities, and training, in order to constantly refresh and develop my professional practice.
Counselling really works best through the alliance formed in the working relationship between client and Counsellor, therefore I offer an initial free 30 minute 'getting to know you' session. These are done using an online video platform.
In-Person sessions are held in a room in Durrington Community Centre. There is free parking and access is all flat and accessible for wheelchair users. Convenient for local areas Lancing, Shoreham, Ferring, Steyning, Angmering, Rustington and Littlehampton.
